Safer Haven AI, putting people first in AI adoption
About Safer Haven AI

Putting your people first. Safer Haven AI

The organisations that struggle most with AI aren’t held back by the tools, they’re held back by how their people feel about them. We work with that first.

Our Story

Born From the Human Side of the AI Revolution

Safer Haven.AI began when our founder, Darren Sharples, noticed something unusual while speaking with business leaders about AI.

During a conversation with a senior executive at a large organisation, Darren asked how their teams were adapting to AI and what policies were in place to guide its use. The response was unexpected: there was no clear policy, the workforce was anxious about being replaced, and even leadership admitted they were still trying to understand what AI meant for their organisation.

If a company of that scale was struggling to navigate the change, Darren began to wonder what small and medium-sized businesses must be experiencing.

At the same time, Darren was training to become a Psychotherapist, exploring the psychology of change and how people respond to uncertainty. It became clear that the biggest barrier to AI adoption wasn't technology, it was how people felt about it.

Many AI consultants focused on tools, prompts, and automation. Very few were addressing the human response to technological change. The uncertainty, the fear, and the questions people were often hesitant to ask.

Safer Haven.AI was created to bridge that gap.

By combining Darren's background in business leadership with therapy-informed principles, Safer Haven.AI developed a training approach that places psychological safety and human understanding at the centre of AI education.

Today, the organisation works with businesses across the UK to turn uncertainty into clarity, helping teams understand AI, adopt it responsibly, and use it in ways that strengthen their work rather than threaten it.

When people feel safe to explore new technology, they don't resist change — they lead it.

Our Story - Born From the Human Side of AI
Our Vision

A Future Where AI Belongs to Everyone, Not Just Those Who Were Never Afraid of It

We believe AI should support human potential, not replace it, reducing repetitive work and creating space for creativity, critical thinking, and the kinds of contributions only people can make.

Our vision is a future where organisations embrace AI without fear or confusion, understanding it clearly and have the knowledge to use it responsibly & safely.

Our Vision for Human-Centred AI
Mission Statement

Helping Organisations Adopt AI With Confidence, Starting With the People Inside Them

Our mission is to help organisations understand and adopt AI without fear, confusion, or unnecessary technical complexity.

Through therapy-informed, human-centred training, we create the conditions for real adoption. We take AI anxiety seriously, not as an obstacle to overcome, but as a signal worth understanding. We build confidence from the inside out.

The result is not just teams who know how to use AI. It is teams who want to.

Helping Organisations Adopt AI with Clarity
Purpose

Bridging the Gap Between People and Tech

Safer Haven.AI was created because we saw a growing gap between how quickly AI technology is evolving and how prepared people feel to work alongside it.

Our purpose is to help close that gap creating a safe, supportive space where organisations can understand AI clearly, ask honest questions, and explore its potential without pressure or judgment.

By translating complex technology into human understanding, we help organisations adopt AI in a way that benefits both the business and the people within it.

The Principles That Guide Our Work

Empathy First

We listen before we teach. AI change can bring uncertainty, and we meet people where they are creating space for honest questions and thoughtful learning.

Radical Clarity

No jargon. No hype. We translate complex technology into clear, practical understanding that people can confidently apply in their everyday work.

Responsible Adoption

AI should be powerful, but also safe. Governance, ethics, and responsible use sit at the heart of everything we do.

Long-Term Partnership

AI adoption doesn’t happen in a day. We stay alongside the organisations we support, helping learning turn into real, lasting change.

Our Foundation

Opening the Door to AI for Everyone

The Safer Haven Foundation exists because the future of AI should not belong only to those with the best resources or access to technology.

As AI continues to reshape the world of work, there is a real risk that people without access to training, devices, or clear guidance will be left behind. The foundation was created to help close that gap by offering free, accessible AI education to schools, colleges, community groups, and charities.

Through shorter introductory workshops, we aim to give people a safe first step into AI. Covering practical prompting, simple workflows, and responsible use, while building the confidence to explore technology without intimidation.

These sessions are designed not just to teach tools, but to help people develop confidence in their own ability to understand and shape the future of technology.

The initiative is funded through the commercial work of Safer Haven.AI, with the long-term goal of delivering regular community training sessions as the organisation grows.

Safer Haven Foundation - Opening the Door to AI

“Every organisation I have worked with had the same problem. It was never the technology. It was always the people. So that is where we start.”
